Advances in Telemedicine
The Development Authority of the North County (DANC) won a bid to engineer and construct the Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization’s cutting-edge telemedicine network. The network improves access to care by creating electronic linkages between 28 healthcare providers across the region and Fort Drum, plus connecting them to healthcare providers in Utica and Syracuse. The telemedicine network is feasible due to the availability of fiber optics by the Open Access Telecom Network.
