Entrepreneurialism

Drum Country boasts colleges that are fostering entrepreneurship. SUNY Jefferson Community College has an Entrepreneurship Center which is a collaboration between the college and the SBDC. This provides potential and existing business owners with the opportunity to obtain a greater level of expertise about the business plan process, marketing and funding, in addition to other topics. Clarkson University also has an Entrepreneurship Center that focuses on building future business owners. The university has broadened its scope by taking their E-center to rural communities in the Adirondack Park. Through their Forever Wired initiative, Clarkson is partnering with Adirondack Economic Development Corporation, to bring its entrepreneurial classes to Saranac Lake. This will bring educational opportunities to small business owners in the Park.
